North Star Group’s (NSG) Lockett Yee presented a technical paper at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) conference on August 12, 2013 in Washington D.C. The technical paper highlighted the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) current Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) flight and maintenance certification requirements. NSG specializes in understanding FAA’s UAS certification processes and UAS data link communications protection.
Lockett Yee is a Senior Program Management Specialist at NSG. He has held multiple Program Management and Senior Systems Engineering positions during his career that spanned 41 years in the Departments of the Navy, Commerce, and the Federal Aviation Administration. His career experience has been in the acquisition management and delivery of a variety of air traffic control system components.
At NSG, he is a member of the company’s Aviation Science team, which supports the FAA’s NextGen Aircraft Access to System Wide Information Management (AAtS) initiative. AAtS will provide manned aircraft a means to connect to a collection of common aeronautical, meteorological, and traffic management information sources provided from multiple services. These services include up-to-date information from sources such as the FAA, National Weather Service (NWS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), airports, etc. to create a shared globally interoperable aviation information environment.
